Location |
The sessions will be based at our location in Box unless stated otherwise in writing. There is the possibility for coach drop-off for the children but there are no long term parking space for coaches. Coaches tend to park in a nearby lay-by or come back at the time of pick-up. Minibuses can usually have on site parking.
IMPORTANT:
Our Quarry Hill, Box, Corsham site is a woodland with many trees that are exposed to nature. Trees provide some level of shelter from rain, but generally if it rains we will get wet! It is absolutely essential that all visitors (both children and accompanying grown-ups) come with the right clothing, meaning lots of layers, waterproofs and sturdy footwear (and in the warmer months sun hats and sun cream) as well as a "can do" and "up for it" attitude to maximising the outdoor experiences for all, especially the children.

Risk AssessmentsDetailed risk assessments are carried out for the activities and location and there are first aid qualified instructors present. However, it important for the school to conduct their own risk assessments as they have responsibility for the safeguarding of the children in their care. This may include consideration for coach drop and pick up procedures as well as considerations for children, accompanying staff and volunteers during the day, such as allergies, health and fitness of participants, accessibility, first aid, identification and head counts, clothing and footwear. |
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)We welcome children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Some important considerations include the uneven and sometimes steep terrain within the woodland as well as muddy areas, particularly on wet days and near the farm animals. Also there are no disabled toilets on site.
