Fabulous inclusive and supportive young outdoor adventurers. 11 year old boys and girls playing as kids should play in the outdoors, getting mucky and having fun. A few games of man-hunt set the scene and demonstrated how fast the fastest could run. We built dens, played great games of capture the flag, toasted marshmallows on the camp fire and played the real "team death match"...and...luckily...we all survived...!
Outdoor birthday party for 5 year old boys and girls from Forest and Sandridge Primary School, Sandridge Common, Melksham, Wiltshire, SN12 7QS
Glorious weather and excited children. The perfect match. We played hide and seek tag, we fed the pigs (elephants in disguise), sheep, ducks, chickens and geese. We played bulldog, we built dens and we ate around the camp fire as well as in the dens. Then of course we sang happy birthday and toasted marshmallows on the embers.

Toddlers and young children from Seend Playgroup, The Pavilion, Rusty Lane, Seend, SN12 6NS
25 pre-school children and 20 adults created a bubbly environment in the woods. Some had visited Woodland Adventurers before through pre-school sessions or birthday parties and some were new faces. All the children were fabulous in getting stuck in to all activities and having fun. The adults were great too, supporting the children without taking control. Children's confidence was building all the time.
We played with mud, water and bubbles in the mud kitchen. We climbed. We went on the swing. We built dens. We toasted marshmallows and popcorn. We ate picnics. We fed the farm animals. And we ran and ran and ran! And all of this was achieved with the especially ordered glorious sunshine and a light sprinkling of water (from the hose pipe!).
I wonder...this must be the best job in the world!

Fun woodland adventures today. We played tag. We visited the farm animals. We played various types of bulldog, we hiked, we explored caves, we played on rope swings and we pursued our own interests:
Children from Studley Green Primary School, Westfield Road, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 9JQ
A lovely day playing and learning in the outdoors with a class of children of mixed ages and mixed abilities, aiming to nurture and encourage the development of self-confidence, self-esteem, self-belief and social skills.
We aimed to provide an exciting and fun outdoors environment for the children to learn.
We also aimed to extend the children's boundaries outside of their usual comfort zones.
The children played tag, built the most gigantic dens (even incorporating patios!), ate picnics in their dens, fed the farm animals, played bulldog, hunted for bugs, listened to a story, played on slack lines, played on a gym horse and played on a tyre swing. And then time ran out...
All the children and staff were an absolute pleasure to be with and we hope to see them all again soon.
Babies and toddlers learning through playing outdoors
We had lots of fun playing with the mud kitchen and building dens with some amazing youngsters - familiar faces and new faces. Many families from nearby and some that travelled from afar - from across the hills and far away. We went searching for teddy bears in the wood, we played, we ate toasted crumpets and we fed the farm animals. It's always lovely too see children growing in confidence in the outdoors.
