Woodland Adventurers’ outdoor kindergarten, an outdoor preschool nursery located in Box, Corsham in Wiltshire has been graded as “outstanding” in their first Ofsted inspection.
At Woodland Adventurers, children from the age of 3 years spend all their time learning in the outdoors, in all weathers; taking a more Scandinavian-style approach to education. Children have 4 acres of woodland to learn and play in where they have campfires, use tools and feed farm animals, as well as go for hikes in the local countryside. The Ofsted report is glowing with positivity throughout, such as “all children make substantial and sustained progress consistently in all areas of learning” and “children’s physical health and emotional well-being benefit greatly from the opportunity to learn in the open air with a range of natural materials and outdoor experiences”. Chris Harvey (Director) is delighted with the “outstanding” result and is keen to recognize that this outcome is the result of a highly dedicated team who are all passionate about making a positive contribution to children’s lives through connecting them with real experiences in the natural world “it is overwhelming to achieve the result that the whole team deserve through their hard work and dedication, as well as their attention to detail in striving for excellence. Our team is proving that children’s happiness and learning thrives in leaps and bounds when they are immersed in nature”.
