Woodland Adventurers® School Trips and Visits
Woodland Adventurers®, Quarry Hill, Box, Corsham, Wiltshire, SN13 0NS

Picture
We host school and preschool/nursery visits throughout the year - Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer.  Sessions generally follow a theme.  If you have a classroom topic that we could assist in bringing to life in the outdoors, then do let us know at the time of booking.

A magical and inspirational experience for both children and teaching staff in the beautiful surroundings of our beech woodland in Quarry Hill, Box, Corsham, Wiltshire.

The children will have the most amazing fun exploring and learning about the beauty of nature and it's seasons, as well as increasing their sensory awareness that will provide them with a sense of freedom away from the confines of the classroom.  Teaching staff can rest assured that Woodland Adventurers®' staff will take responsibility for leading the group(s) through their activities enabling the staff to relax and enjoy the experience too.  Often teaching staff are able to spend more time observing and seeing children demonstrate new personality traits, as well as new social dynamics and interactions that are harder to see in the classroom - such as quieter children "coming out of their shells" with bundles of confidence.

School trip to Woodland Adventurers® at Box, Corsham (2014)

Once again all the Reception children at Corsham Primary have had the most invigorating time at Woodland Adventurers. Returning to school with big grins, mucky knees and stories to tell. They have learned so much about themselves as little people, grown in individual strength and resilience and had fun to boot! Thanks Chris and all the team at Woodland Adventurers for helping us enhance our curriculum to the max.

School trip to Woodland Adventurers® at Box, Corsham (2014)

Thank you Woodland Adventurers for your enthusiasm, patience and support working with our students this year. They have thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Come rain or shine (but mostly rain!) the students have had a fantastic time and have developed social and thinking skills. The activities have challenged our students and, at times, taken them out of their comfort zones. We have been delighted by the improvement in our students' self-esteem and their willingness to try new things; their self-confidence has sky-rocketed!

Important note for parents of visiting children

It is essential that all children and all accompanying grown-ups (such as parent / carer helpers, teachers, teaching assistants) wear warm comfortable and appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather conditions e.g. hot, cold, wet, muddy, puddles.

Below is an important note for parents / carers of visiting children.  It aims to advise parents / carers regarding appropriate clothing considerations for children so that the children stay warm, and dry so that they are able to be safe and to maximise their enjoyment of the arboretum.

We strongly advise schools / preschools to send this note to all parents / carers of visiting children prior to their visit.  This often makes sense as an accompaniment to permission letters.

The points are applicable to all the children and all accompanying grown-ups and they go towards enabling a fun and enjoyable learning session for all involved.
For parents and carers:

We are looking forward to hosting your child’s forthcoming visit to Woodland Adventurers® and we hope that every child has an amazing time exploring and adventuring in the beauty of nature and the great outdoors.

An important note:

Our Quarry Hill, Box, Corsham site is a woodland with many trees that are are exposed to nature.  Trees can provide some level of shelter from rain, but generally if it rains we will get wet! It is absolutely essential that all visitors (both children and accompanying grown-ups) come with the right clothing, meaning lots of layers for warmth, waterproofs and sturdy footwear (and in the warmer months sun hats and sun cream) as well as a "can do" and "up for it" attitude to maximising the outdoor experiences for all, especially the children.
