Woodland Adventurers started in Wiltshire, England in 2011 and was incorporated as a company in 2012. We started running Forest School sessions for local schools, as well as Holiday Clubs, Saturday Morning Clubs and Birthday Parties for children and their families from all around the local area.
Our focus has increasingly developed from a general mix of recreation and education sessions towards an increasing focus on education and training. Since those early days we have:
We have also run many focused sessions including the following:
- Worked with Westonbirt Arboretum (Forestry Commission) offering educational visits for Early Years settings and schools.
- Worked with the Forestry Commission offering outdoor education in West Woods, near Marlborough, Wiltshire.
- Been delivering Forest School qualifications since 2014.
- Established two Ofsted-registered Early Years settings "outdoor kindergartens" in 2015, both of which were determined as "OUTSTANDING" by Ofsted, combined with the highest standards of Food Hygiene which was determined as 5 STAR by Environmental Health.
We have also run many focused sessions including the following:
- Home Education groups
- Toddler Groups
- Early Years Setting practitioner visits
- Hosting school visits
- In-school outdoor learning sessions
- CPD courses
- Team building for school teaching staff
- School outdoor space development
We have continued to shift our focus towards 100% education and training through offering the following:
- Qualifications and courses for adults in outdoor learning and Forest Schools
- CPD courses
- Short courses in outdoor education
- Team building for school teaching staff
- In-school outdoor learning sessions
- School outdoor space development
- Continuous improvement support for Early Years settings (including Ofsted-readiness)
